The fluid in the power steering reservoir has changed to a dark colour, which is an important indication that the power steering fluid needs to be flushed.

SERIOUS. The change in colouring is caused by fine metal particles suspended in the oil. These particles have already been pumped throughout the system, effectively becoming a grinding paste on any of the moving parts within the system.
