- If in doubt slow down! Always drive to the conditions
- Keep your headlights and windscreen clean. Good quality wiper blades and full wiper bottles go a long way to keeping your windscreen clean.
- Check your lights regularly to make sure they are working. You can use the reflections in windows if you don’t have someone to help you.
- Your headlights should illuminate the road approximately 4 seconds ahead. If your lights are not performing as they should, ask us for recommendations on alternative globes
- Be extra aware of pedestrians, cyclists and motor cycles as they can be harder to spot in the dark
- When driving in country areas keep an eye out for animals that might be crossing the road.
- Don't look directly into oncoming headlights - you may be dazzled. Look at the left hand side of the road and drive well to the left. If you're dazzled, slow down or stop.
- Make sure your car is in safe working condition. A well maintained car is less likely to break down and can stop in a timely manner.
